The red country by rontufox The red country by rontufox
Seasons of Murmoose and Luuk's homeland--Deru.
composition inspired by [link]

Yellow leaves dot the trees year-round and turn red after falling, leaving the forest floor a perpetual shade of red.
Unlike Aheya, Deru's environment is a untamed and harsh--bitterly cold and prowled by large wild animals.

Really beautiful work. I adore the colors used as they compliment each other well. As for the style, it's unlike anything I've ever seen before.

Thank you very much, I'm glad the colors work well together. I'm always pushing saturation, but try to stay sane in my choices :XD: If you don't mind me asking, what about the style do you find so unique? (since creators are blind to their own work)

It's hard to describe exactly what's unique about this. Separately I guess I've seen each element, but coming together it's unlike anything else. The line work reminds me of a hand-drawn manga from the 90's I saw a couple of years ago; the style is more suggestive than realistic and detailed but the detail is added in the coloring rather than the line work. The way you used the colors reminds me a bit of a typical vector style but it's much more fluent. And then the saturated colors and in the top one some rather unconventional color choices... All in all I can say you have a very personal style.

Sorry I've taken so long to respond, but your feedback has really given me insight about what it is I'm doing with my art, and I really appreciate it. Thus far I've just been throwing shapes and colors everywhere without knowing where in the world of art my work may fit in or be similar to. I feel a bit more anchored somehow, haha. Thank you!

In my opinion there aren't that many artists/designers with a very unique style, so when I discover one with an own style I can appreciate it extra much. I'm sure everyone gets inspired by other artist unconsciously but to use that inspiration and make it your own — that's the trick.

Love the contrast of the seasons, I like how the colors can change the whole scenery and feeling, loving the first one, the many shade of reds and warm vibe, lovely indeed, quite interesting! :D

Ah, thank you! Yeah, I really enjoyed doing two different versions of the same scene, making both have very different moods with just the colors. Glad you like them too!
